I’ve made notes about the
colors, textures, sights and
sounds. I’ve done sketches for reference and have painted this area.
Now I am sitting on a rock at the edge of the creek jotting notes,
recording my feelings about this place. I love painting outdoors. There
is a spirit in the air that seems to
mix with the paint and transform the work from a painting to a
spiritual expression of self.
I wonder if those who see this work experience the warmth of the sun,
the soft breeze, the smell of red clover and blue sage or the sound of
the bugs floating over the water. Maybe not, but hopefully some will
awaken to this gift of nature.
